In a multi-media presentation featuring films from past operas and plans for the upcoming season Mr. Sharpe will explain the step-by-step process for coordinating the voices, music, sets and costumes required to bring your favorite opera to life.

Ojai Library Zombie Lock-down

Zombies Invade Ojai Library

The Ojai Library is joining 71 public libraries nationwide in an all-night program featuring contests, author visits via Skype, Wii games, stories, movies, food and fun. Each library will post game scores to a dedicated website where national winners will be selected.

Zombies ages 10 to 16 are welcome.

SLEEP IS OPTIONAL. PARENT PERMISSION FORMS ARE MANDATORY!

Lock-down begins 6:30pm Friday August 3. Zombies will be released 8:00am Saturday August 4.

Ojai Library Presents: Mime Workshop

Ojai Academy Sidewalk Saturday upcoming event this month is a fun filled one hour event with Mime artist Candace Hull.

Candace Hull has practiced the art of pantomime for over 35 years.  She studied with Anne Dennis Yankovitch of the San Francisco Mime Troupe and the Mime Project.

Candace will teach the art of Pantomime to adults and children at the Ojai Library on Saturday June 30 from 11am-12pm. All material and supplies will be provided.

Come and join us for an unforgettable experience.

Ojai Library Presents: Ray Bradbury, A Tribute

Join E.E. King at the Ojai Library for a tribute to her godfather, Ray Bradbury on Saturday June 23 from 2-5.

This free literary event will include both a discussion of Bradbury's writing and excerpts from his classic works read by commmunity members.

E.E. King will share the imagery and imagination of Ray Bradbury and discuss other short story techniques.  Learn how short stories can be transformed into longer works and how fact is utilized in fiction, no matter how strange.

Cancelled: Guitarist Chaz Prymek at Ojai Library

We are sorry to report: the performer has cancelled!
Guitarist Chaz Prymek
will not perform at the Ojai Library on Sunday, June 3. 

Chaz plays American Primitive Guitar, a genre created by John Fahey in the 1950s. 

American Primitivism is a blend of blues, classical and folk styles combined with country blues finger-picking techniques.  Chaz also performs under the name Lake Mary.

First Sunday Music at the Ojai Library: Polecat Ramblers

The Polecat Ramblers return to the Ojai Library on Sunday May 6th at 1pm

Ramblers, David Roine (fiddle, guitar, mandolin and accordion) and Christian Gallo (guitar and five- and six-string banjos) play traditional old-timey acoustic fiddle tunes and string band music.

Join us for an hour of music from our nation’s history.
