California Native Plants @ Foster

On Wednesday, June 3, E.P. Foster Library will host a presentation by David L. Magney of the California Native Plant Society.

This educational talk will focus on the plants of the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge. Come learn more about some of California's unique flora! There will also be time for some plant identification, so bring your unidentified plants.

This free event starts at 7 p.m. in the Topping Room. We hope to see you there!

New Library Card Design Art Contest for Kids & Teens!

Calling all children and teen artists! Ventura County Library wants you to design our new children and teen library cards.  The contest will run from June 1 through June 30.

Only children (ages 5-12) and teens (ages 13-17) are eligible to participate, one entry per person.  All entries must be submitted on a regulated contest form.  Here is a complete list of rules and the regulated contest form or you may pick up a regulated contest form with rules at any Ventura County Library.

Film Discussion Group @ Foster

On Monday, June 1, E.P. Foster Library will screen the next film in our first-Monday discussion series.

This month's film is a contemporary cult classic set in a 1960s East Coast city. In it, high school teens come to terms with changing pop culture, race relations, bigotry, and music and decide to take a stand… all with a tongue-in-cheek spirit.

This fun and free event will take place in the Topping Room; the doors open at 6 p.m. There will be time afterward for discussion and critique, so come by to share your thoughts!

Summer Hours at the Library!

Four of our libraries will have new hours beginning May 31.

Our goal is to more closely meet the needs of each community with revised hours and expanded services.

See a list of the libraries, addresses and hours.

And remember our eLibrary is open 24/7
